For every Grab passengers, you must have heard interesting stories based on drivers’ experiences. From amusing tales to bone-chilling stories, many drivers are interesting lads who will happily share their experiences with you.
To celebrate their drivers, and all things Malaysian, with the artistic support of Maple Comics, GRAB has launched an initiative called “Ride The Arts With GRAB”, a special comic book release called “Driving Malaysia”.
The stories are selected based on the representation of Malaysian culture and the ups and downs of GRAB drivers’ experiences that really stood out to them.
“This is our opportunity to showcase Malaysian creativity as well as share the stories of our drivers,” says Regina Robin, Communication Manager of GRAB.
Maple Comics’s Co-Founder, Amir Hafizi lined up a solid set of good comic artistes for the project, including Adifitri Ahmad, Michelle Lee, Arif Rafhan, Azwanjjai, Pokcik Fingernailz, Uzair Abdul Rashid, Jon Suraya, and Oren.
“Every Grab driver has a story to tell and it is easy for us to sometimes take them for granted. So this book pays homage to the hundreds of thousands of Grab drivers, not just in Malaysia but also in other countries for their tireless service in out serving our Grab passengers,” Regina added.
The book is the first step for GRAB’s long term commitment through their “Ride the Arts” Programme to promote local art by being a conduit for local artists to share their work with the public.
Driving Malaysia is available for RM20 in selected bookshops such as Kinokuniya, MPH, Times, Borders, Silverfish Books, Kedai Fixi, Kedai Lejen, Kedai Buku 1Malaysia. The comic is available on the Maple Comics website at www.maplecomics.com.my. So guys, check it out!
