IN its 17th installment, the annual International Architecture, Interior Design and Building Exhibition — better known as ARCHIDEX 2016 – opens 20 – 23 July 2016.
ARCHIDEX is an event under the Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival (KLAF) 2016, organized with the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) and C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd.
Recognized as one of South East Asia’s most successful industry trade show, the exhibition features 1,200 booths and expects well over 35,000 visitors at the KLCC Convention Centre.
With 500 companies both local and international from over 17 nations, key players in the industry will make their way to ARCHIDEX, estimating total business transactions made at the event to hit RM1 billion. It comes as no surprise they managed to bag the Best Trade Exhibition Award at the rAWr Awards 2015.

Pop by for one of the most highly anticipated architectural events of the year: the DATUM PAM Conference will feature international powerhouses such as Satoshi Ohashi from Zaha Hadid Architects and Ted Givens from 10 Designs as speakers.
Other highlights include the PAM Green and Design Forums, architecture tours and masterclasses, so take your pick and remember to sign up for them.
Also, head down to any of the Biz@ARCHIDEX Talks happening daily. Selected exhibitors within the industry will present their latest innovations.
And if you’re in need of the most cutting edge products in the trade, be sure to check out the nominees for the New Products Award (NPA) and Green Dot Award (GDA), displayed at the ARCHIDEX Awards Gallery.
With this year’s theme Future Communities: Re-emergence of Social Urbanism, ARCHIDEX hopes to involve the public as much as possible.
KLFAR Director AR David Teh mentions, “The notion of an architecture festival is that it is part of the public domain, and is therefore celebrated by the public and not just the profession of architecture.”
“That of course should be what it should be, as architecture is physically, spatially, contextually and visibly public,” he continued.
ARCHIDEX will run from 20-23 July 2016 from 10am to 7pm at KLCC Convention Centre.
